Harley Davidson is set to release the finest Sporster, the XR1200X, to the American market by 2011. The XR1200X is being exported to other markets this year and will be hitting US dealerships by next year with a sticker price of $11,799.

Although we are wondering why a brand that boasts of a long American heritage first sells its finest product to the European market, we whole heartedly welcome the coming of the XR1200X. This Harley Davidson makes use of a 1200cc fuel injected V-twin engine. The bike gives out 74 lb-ft of torque and is designed to take a lean angle of 40 degrees.

The XR1200X also comes with front forks with adjustable rebound, preload, and compression from Showa. The rear shocks features 36 millimeter pistons and piggyback reservoirs.

The seat height of this ride comes at 29.2 inches providing a sporty posture as it is combined with dirt track handlebars plus the rear mount pegs.

Buyers can choose from black or white finish with blacked out engine, wheels, and exhaust. The wheels get orange highlights to match the springs.

The XR1200X is certainly a head-turner!

Most people automatically opt to drive a car without ever really considering the option riding a motorcycle. While there are certainly some disadvantages to riding a bike there are also many advantages of bikes over cars. The biggest advantage of a bike is how little fuel it uses, this becoming a bigger and bigger advantage all the time as fuel prices keep getting higher. Obviously riding a motorcycle isn’t an option for everybody but for a lot of people it is a viable transportation option and should be considered.

The biggest advantage of a bike over a car is cost, bikes are much cheaper than cars. The purchase price of a motorcycle is usually quite a bit less than a car, although this isn’t always true, there are some very expensive bikes. Even more importantly the cost of operating a bike is much lower than the cost of a driving. Bikes use a lot less fuel than cars and they are cheaper to insure according to www.carolenash.com, these two things can result in savings of thousands of dollars every year.

Since bikes burn less fuel than cars they are better for the environment and this is another huge advantage of a bike over a car. Global warming is a serious problem and there is an urgent need to reduce our carbon foot print. The best way to do this is to get around on a vehicle that burns less fuel. The difference in the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by a motorcycle and by a car over the course of a year is huge. A car is a very inefficient way to get around, especially if you aren’t carrying any passengers. If everybody traded in the car for a bike it would do wonders for the environment.

Another advantage that bikes have over cars is that it is so much easier and cheaper to park them than it is for a car. In large cities this is no small detail. In most cities parking can be a nightmare and assuming you can even find a place to park it will likely be very expensive and located a long way from where you are actually going. Since a motorcycle takes up so much less space it is much easier to find a place to park a bike.

Not everybody is going to find a bike to be practical option but for those who do there are many advantages to riding a motorcycle. Far and away the biggest advantage is how much money can be saved. Most of that savings comes through burning less fuel which itself has other advantages mainly for the environment. The decision to ride a bike or not is a pretty big one and it should not be taken lightly. The best option is to gather the facts and make an informed decision.

A fighter-plane-inspired automobile has been unveiled last year. This 2009, the Ford F-150 receives a Harley-Davidson treatment, as it was unveiled during the Chicago Auto Show.

A brilliant partnership between two of the well-known names in cars and motorcycles, Ford and Harley-Davidson has been successful in creating a biker-inspired model of the Ford F-150, the 14th F-Series truck that has received the motorcycle design since the year 2000.

The Ford F-150 is powerful with its 5.4-liter V8 engine that has 320 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. This power train is partnered with a six-speed automatic transmission. The exhaust system of the Ford F-150 also gets a sport-tuned feel. This biker-inspired truck features a two-wheel drive system or the optional four-wheel drive option.

The Ford F-150 model easily stands out with the six-bar billet-style grille and an aluminum and chrome badging. It also comes with the 22-inch tires (the largest in all of the F-Series line up), Euroflange wheels with the polished and painted wheel caps, and the classic Harley-Davidson Tuxedo Black coating combined with Ford’s pioneer application of Lava, a dark maroon metallic color.

The interior of the Ford F-150 also carries the biker-theme—the seats received the ridged leather design, imprinted button snaps, and specialized zippers borrowed from Harley jackets. According to Design Director, Patrick Schiavone, the Ford F-150’s interior and exterior designs are tightly linked. “It’s very much like how some customized Harley-Davidson motorcycles have a prominent theme that runs through them,” said Schiavone. “That’s how we tie it in with custom bikes.”
